bringing social to software

White labeled platforms is what we offer.  Social Networking, tagging, reviews, commenting, content publishing - all connected together by your customers.  This is what the market is asking for - "bringing social to software" - and that's what Broadband Mechanics has.

Our PeopleAggregator platform can provide you with a stand alone social network or add social features into your existing web site or legacy app.  We can add reviews, comments, ratings, tagging, etc. into any web site or we can integrate the social graph and profile accounts of a social network in with other social 'functionality'.

We're also starting to offer an aggregation engine, publishing system and CMS - to bring 'white labeled platforms' to the market.

BBM in conjunction with our partners in Italy - eVectors - have launched a social network for Italian women - called leamiche.donnamoderna.com.. Donna Moderna (a leading Italian women's magazine) is part of the Mondadori media empire, one of Silvio Berlusconi's companies. Leamiche.donnamoderna.com features extensive integration with the rest of donnamoderna.com suite of web properties, apps, services and content. #

BBM in Canada

BBM worked with Bell Canada to "bring social software" features to their movie downloading site -  BellVideoStore.ca.  Movie downloading customers can now leave comments, reviews, rate movies, tag and declare themselves to be fans of a movie, TV show or actor.  The Bell site was created with ASP .Net and interfaces to BBM's PeopleAggregator platform (which is php based) via a technique we call 'widgetization'.  This same approach can be utilized for bringing social features to any Java, Python, VB or any other kind fo comuting platform, Intranet or legacy web site. #

BBM in India

BBM worked with Tekriti in India to produce iTimes.com for theTimesofIndia - India's largest media company.  iTimes.com utilizes PeopleAggregator to produce a 'Netvibes-like' dashboard interface coupled to a social network. #

Lots of ways to get social networking working for you:

  • have us host your own stand alone social network
  • isolate any specific social network feature and include it into your existing software offerings
  • create a mashup utilizing our web service APIs with other APIs and/or platforms
  • license some or all of our source code to run and build your own offering yourself
Key features:

APIs and Widgetization
PeopleAggregator has two kinds of APIs and a methodology for plugging in our user interfaces into any parallel codebase, web site or legacy system.  We bring social features to any kind of software application, service or mashup

Personal pages
PeopleAggregator provides Public pages - which can display different content to different page viewers and Private pages - which act as 'dashboards' for every member.

Blogging
PeopleAggregator has a myriad of blogging formats available, including podcasting, vlogging, reviews, events and people oriented showcases.  Every Network gets a blog, every Group has a blog and every Member has a blog and can route their blog posts throughout the system and to their external blogs - as well.  And external blog tools can post INTO PeopleAggregator.

Groups
Members or Network operators can create Groups, which have their own Blog, Media Gallery, Message Board forum and Events. Groups can be tagged and are the way that humans can 'cluster' together on their own.

Meta-Networks (hosted networks)
Every copy of PeopleAggregator is it's own meta-network - which means it's a network of networks. You can host social networks for your customers, employees or just about anybody. All of the source code you need to build your own meta-network platform is available.

Broadband Mechanics supports OpenID and other open standard formats, including the upcoming Attribute Exchange data exchange feature.
